At the beginning of 1982, North American Philips realized that the Odyssey2 could still be sold in decent quantities, and decided to use a 'fan club' magazine to promote the system. This was done along the lines of what Atari was already doing with they're own publication for the various Atari systems. Philips put out the Odyssey2 Adventure magazine, which included a letters section, high scores, various articles about the Odyssey2 hardware and game makers, short stories based on Odyssey games, previews of upcoming games, and Odyssey related products. The magazine lasted almost two years, and ended just in time for the video game crash at the end of 1983. |
